Somali piracy is alive and well, which is a rush of pure sea air to those of us with fantastical swashbuckling dreams. But what to say when these men who still dare to be pirates threaten Norwegian seamen- my very own flesh and blood! Perhaps the crewmen of Odfjell SE aren't really Viking descendants, and instead of looting monasteries they ship bulk quantities of acid and petroleum products in massive ships that heavily pollute the seas, BUT it's hard not to stand in awe of Norwegian seacrafts, considering their legacy.
That being said, I still harbor no resentment towards Somali pirates wanting to loot Odfjell. What I really feel is a kind've embarrassment and sadness that Norway isn't as tough any more, and Viking spirit is hard to come by. Odfjell isn't even putting up a fight! Instead they're rerouting their ships. I want to stay offended at any group that attacks anything Norwegian, but when it comes down to it, I want my vague, far-removed cousins to put up a fight. The pirates are putting them to shame, and there they go running, horns left behind.
